Members of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders provide editorial services to publishers and a wide range of companies, government agencies and other bodies. Many members are also copywriters, indexers, project managers, translators and/or typesetters.

Karin Fancett
Advanced member, based in Winchester.Karin's background is in the natural sciences, and much of her recent work has been in the environmental/conservation/sustainability field. She's happy to consider most other subjects. More about Karin

Advanced member, based in Marchwood, near Southampton.Frances has a particular interest in working with online content (such as web pages and customer communications) and specialises in copywriting and copy-editing for business. More about Frances

Advanced member, based near Eastleigh.Kate works mainly with academic authors on subjects ranging from literary theory and philosophy to architecture and politics. More about Kate
Penny Sucharov
Advanced member, based in Ashurst, near Southampton.Penny specialises in higher-level science and engineering but also has considerable experience of a wide range of general books and fiction and is happy to consider other subjects. More about Penny
Dean Rockett
Ordinary member, based in Portsmouth.Dean has extensive experience in cricket, a particular speciality, and acquired a high level of expertise in the car tyre industry. Much of Dean's work has been on sport and history texts. More about Dean

Debra Cox
Based in Fareham.Debra's background is in fine art, and she specialises in photography, crafts, art, travel and classic car/motorcycle transport. Her recent work has been for the motoring magazine Minor Monthly. She's happy to consider other subjects.
Catherine Glover
Based near Salisbury.Catherine specialises in history and archaeology but worked for many years in software development. She's skilled in web page design and designing and writing and editing user manuals. More about Catherine
Mary Hobbins
Based in Ferndown.Mary has worked on a variety of business documents and academic texts (humanities), including texts by non-native English speakers. She specialises in onscreen editing and has completed two Publishing Training Centre courses: 'Proofreading by distance learning' and 'Editing on screen by distance learning' (achieving a merit). Susan Slade
Based in Waltham Chase, near Southampton.Susan gained a distinction in the Publishing Training Centre's proofreading course. As well as proofreading marketing literature for her employer, she has proofread RYA publications and has a good understanding of navigational terminology.
Sue Walker
Based in Salisbury.Sue's background is in science and medicine. She also has expertise in natural history, conservation, gardening and photography. Sue is the website editor for her local RSPB group, has proofread documents for her employers and is studying with the Publishing Training Centre.
