The 19th SfEP annual conference at St Catherine's College marks the Society's 20th year of existence. Why not join us in Oxford to celebrate?

The SfEP has come a long way since it was founded in 1988 and much has changed in the world of work too. The conference will review some of these changes and help delegates to look forward to an exciting and stimulating future. As usual, the conference programme will be a mix of workshops, seminars, plenary sessions and panel discussions – and, of course, networking and socializing.

As usual there will be 12 workshops with something for everyone. If you want to expand your skills, this conference will offer you the opportunity to sample several possibilities. Several workshops focus on non-publishing areas, while others will show what else is possible in traditional publishing:

Conference-goers: Advertise your services!

The Editing Matters 2008 conference supplement will include a directory for advertising the services of members and associates attending conference. An entry costs just £10 for 50 words plus contact details, to be paid with the delegate fee. EM circulation includes members, associates, corporate associates, other subscribers and sister organisations.

Computer-based workshops

Due to the high cost of arranging for computers at the venue, delegates are asked to bring their own laptops for these workshops. This was piloted at the Brighton conference, where it generally went well. If you cannot bring your own laptop but would like to attend one of these workshops, please contact the .
