About the SfEP: Important documents
The operation of the SfEP is governed by two important documents:
In addition, the Society has developed a number of other documents to further its aims:
- Strategy 2011–2013 A rolling two-year strategy, covering members and associates, communications, professional development, and operations.
- Ensuring editorial excellence: The SfEP code of practice Establishes standards of best practice for SfEP members and associates and guidance on: the professional behaviour of both freelance/employee and client/employer; standards for proofreading, editing and project management; and information on web editing, electronic file handling, email etiquette, confidentiality and computer security.
- Contracts and terms & conditions between freelances and their clients Will help the membership resolve any queries or problems regarding terms & conditions and contracts with clients in the UK.
- Contracts between freelances (limited companies) and their clients. Help for members and associates who have formed themselves into limited companies.
