Why edit? Submitting examples
Have you dealt with a piece of copy that showed really well why editing is worth the time, effort and money? Why not share it? The 'Why edit?' team welcomes submissions from all SfEP members and associates.
Your submission should contain:
- a piece of text where the meaning is compromised in a sophisticated way - going beyond the usual greengrocers' examples - and which is about 50-100 words long
- your edited version
- an explanation of the problem and its solution.
Please use the template (40 KB) for each submission.
If your example comes from work that you have done for a client, please submit 'before' and 'after' versions that have been 'anonymised' - i.e. copy that has been made untraceable by the substitution of verbs, reordering of phrases and similar tweaks.
You must also include the original 'before' and 'after' versions with your submission. The anonymised versions will be the ones that will go public, but we like to cross-check them with the originals to make sure that the anonymisation is effective.
Please send your submissions to .
