Using the SfEP logo

Linking to the SfEP home page

You can add a graphic to your website that will link to the SfEP homepage. All you have to do is follow these steps:

  1. Right-click (or, if using a Mac, click and hold) on the graphic below and save it to your hard disk:

    SfEP logo
  2. Copy and paste the following HTML code to your web page:

    <a href="http://www.sfep.org.uk/" title="Visit the Society for Editors and Proofreaders" target="_blank"><img src="[FILENAME]" alt="Link to The Society for Editors and Proofreaders" border="0" width="141" height="85"></a>

where [FILENAME] is the name of the image file which you have saved. If your graphic isn’t in the same directory or folder as the web page, you’ll need to change the "img src=" attribute to point to the image’s correct location.

  3. Upload your web page with the new HTML and the graphic to your web server.

If you want to create an ordinary text link, skip the steps above that relate to the graphic, and copy and paste the following HTML code at a suitable point on your page:

<a href="http://www.sfep.org.uk/" title="Link to The Society for Editors and Proofreaders" target="_blank">Visit the Society for Editors and Proofreaders</a>

Other uses

You can also use this logo (linked or not) as a graphic in freelance directory entries, on CVs and Facebook and LinkedIn pages and in other, similar ways. Advanced, Accredited and Registered members can use logos specific to their qualifications. However, you may not create your own SfEP logo. The SfEP Office has a supply of logos of various sizes; contact them to find out if they have what you need.

The SfEP Council reserves the right to ask for SfEP logos to be deleted when in their opinion they are being used inappropriately.
