New SfEP website launched
The SfEP is pleased to announce that the graphic redesign of its website (http://www.sfep.org.uk) is now complete, thanks to both web designer Sue Davis (http://www.sue-davis.net), who is responsible for the new look of the site, and SfEP Webspinner John Marsden.
The new website incorporates many improvements, including smoother working of the automatic menus, increased amounts of white space, and new iconic pictures. There are also colour scheme changes in the Members' area – from red to blue – to remind members where they are.
John Marsden says, "While the most noticeable difference to the site is its new 'look', there has also been a lot of 'invisible' work going on, including a complete overhaul of the file hierarchy on the server and extensive rewriting of the HTML code. The cascading menu system has been rewritten to give greater accessibility to non-graphical browsers. These technical alterations will make future visual makeovers much easier to implement."
Do have a look at the new website – it's a valuable resource not only for SfEP members but for anyone interested in editing and proofreading. The website provides easy access to information on the SfEP and how to join, the benefits of membership, and information on our training courses and conferences. Other valuable resources include FAQs, the SfEP Code of Practice and the Directory of members' services.
