City & Guilds Licentiateship in Editorial Skills
Professional development director
Following discussions with the SfEP, City & Guilds have developed the Licentiateship in Editorial Skills. This provides recognition of professional development for individuals who have progressed into more senior roles but often have little in the way of formal acknowledgement of the skills they have or the work they have undertaken. The licentiateship – one of City & Guilds' 'senior awards' – is recognised as a Level 4 qualification, equivalent to a Higher National Diploma (HND).
To qualify for the award, applicants will need to supply evidence of:
- advanced membership of the SfEP for at least three years
- continuing professional development
- at least 2,000 hours worked in the three years prior to applying for the licentiateship.
Applicants must also provide a professional reference.
Successful applicants will receive a certificate and have the right to use the letters 'LCGI' after their names. They will also be invited to attend the annual City & Guilds graduation ceremony at Merchant Taylors' Hall in the City of London in May.
