In-house training: Meeting your editorial training needs
'SfEP was an ideal choice, providing a bespoke programme of in-house training that was interesting and immediately useful.'
Natalie Orringe, media officer, Policy and Communications Directorate, Westminster City Council, London
The Society for Editors and Proofreaders now provides tailored in-house courses to both conventional publishers and non-publishing organizations such as local authorities, statutory bodies, service providers and businesses. Building on an established portfolio of training courses, ranging from introductory to advanced, we can respond to the changing needs of organizations – and individuals – for basic training, support and ongoing development of editorial and writing skills.
We come to you – for a day, half a day or a couple of hours – and run a programme that is tailored to your organization, at a location to suit you, whether in-house on site or at a local hotel or conference/training centre. We can deal with large or small groups and can also provide one-to-one tuition.
Our tutors deliver courses across the full range of editorial and writing skills:
- proofreading
- copy-editing
- on-screen editing
- writing and editing for the web
- grammar
- punctuation
- writing
- handling illustrations
- project management
- specialist editing skills in the areas of science, medicine, music, mathematics and the law.
