Mentoring booking terms and conditions

  1. The CIEP offers mentoring subject to availability of mentors and suitable material. The CIEP will process your application and allocate a mentor as promptly as possible, but the CIEP will not be liable for any loss, cost, damage or inconvenience arising from a failure to meet any estimated start or completion date.
  2. It is your responsibility to ensure that you have the ability and aptitude (and, where appropriate, the experience) to benefit from the CIEP mentoring you have booked.
  3. You should read the guidance notes when you book; when your booking is confirmed, you should check that the details are correct and complete. If anything looks wrong or incomplete, you should email or phone the CIEP office immediately.
  4. Any material supplied to you as part of an exercise in editorial work is solely for your own use; it remains confidential and copyright, and it may not be reproduced, circulated or distributed.
  5. Your mentor has to work to a fixed budget, so your demands on their time should be reasonable and proportionate; if they are not, the mentor is authorised to limit, suspend or end feedback. If, through no fault of the mentor, your mentoring is not completed after six months, your mentor has the right to terminate mentoring at that point.
  6. If you withdraw from mentoring that you have already booked, you have no right to a refund, though the mentoring director will consider any case of hardship.
  7. The CIEP allocates professional development credits for mentoring at its sole discretion, and in any individual case the mentoring director's decision on such credits is final.
