I specialise in academic work, particularly in the areas of history and literature, and am comfortable working with the major referencing styles in arts and humanities (e.g. MHRA, MLA, Harvard) as well as customised styles for individual books, journals and theses. As a published novelist myself I enjoy working on fiction, particularly historical novels; as a former cricket writer (for Wisden and other publications) I also take on work in this area, which gives my days a refreshing diversity.
Biography (historical), English literature, fiction (historical, literary, crime/mystery/thriller), non-fiction (general, memoir, biography), history (British, European, medieval, 15th-century, genealogy/family), language (English language, grammar/syntax, writing skills), literary studies, sport (cricket)

I owe thanks to you: the speed and quality of your work was amazing. Thanks very much for saving me from so many errors and improving the book – I very much appreciate it.
Many thanks for your comments on the book. I’ve had a chance to read through them and I’m really pleased with how thorough they are. It’s good to have had a fresh pair of objective eyes evaluating the text in detail. You’ve picked up on numerous issues I’d overlooked and some I was aware of but hadn’t properly addressed. I found your notes constructive and I appreciated your positive observations on various aspects of the writing and characters.
