A copy-editor and proofreader with 11 years' experience working on academic publications (journal papers, non-fiction books - multi-author publications and monographs, practice guidelines, reports). I work with individual authors as well as organizations, in subject areas ranging from psychiatry to literary criticism. I graduated with honours in english literature and language, and in addition to 10 years' working in-house as a copy-editor and proofreader, where I was trained in industry standards, I also completed advanced editing workshops run by the Publishing Training Centre: Advanced Copy-Editing and Rewriting and Substantive Editing.
For most of my career I worked on publications related to psychiatry and mental health, but I edit (and proof) on a broad range of subjects, from literature to sociology, healthcare and events. My other area of interest is text layout. I have created bespoke layouts for books, reports, leaflets, brochures and event invitations, and share some of those on my website (kkeditor.net/projects). I work remotely, but if you're based in London, I can also come into your office.

It has been our pleasure to work with Kasia as copy-editor for our recent book. She is meticulous and proved to be gifted in identifying ways to improve the clarity of our writing. The new layout of the book is elegant and appealing for readers. We found her to be extremely responsive to our input and great to work with at every stage in the process. We would be delighted to have the opportunity to work with her again and recommend her services whole-heartedly.
Dr Vikram Patel and Dr Charlotte Hanlon, authors of "Where There Is No Psychiatrist", 2nd edn
Kasia is an outstanding editor and was a joy to work with at every stage. She checks everything meticulously, she is knowledgeable and sensible, she pays attention to the meaning of what she is reading and has solid reasons for all her corrections. All her suggestions were very helpful and greatly improved the text. She is a rare jewel.
Ms Agnieszka Kołakowska, writer and translator
Kasia is a very capable, thoughtful and conscientious copy-editor. She has an excellent grasp of style and syntax, and is sensitive to the aims of the text in relation to page layout and design. I have no hesitation in highly recommending her skills and look forward to working with her on future publications.
