Reapplications

If the Admissions Panel considers that you have not met the requirements for the grade for which you have applied, you may reapply within 1 year for the same or a lower level of membership at a lower fee.

Your reapplication must be submitted within 1 year (365 days) from the date of notification of a previous unsuccessful application.

Entry-Level Members

If you apply for Intermediate Membership, but your application is not successful, you may remain as an Entry-Level Member, provided that you have not already been at this level for the maximum period allowed. If you are unsure of your upgrade dates, please contact the office.

If you apply for Professional Membership, but your application is not successful, you can choose to:

a       remain as an Entry-Level Member (with the same proviso as above)

         or

b       (if the Admissions Panel confirms that you have the requisite 7 points) you may accept Intermediate Membership.

In either case, one reapplication for Professional Membership within 1 year will qualify for the reduced fee.

If you apply for Professional Membership but your application is not successful, and you subsequently apply for Advanced Professional Membership, this will be considered as a fresh application, not a reapplication, and it will attract the usual application fee. You should apply using the online form as usual.

Intermediate Members

If you applied for Professional Membership, but your application is not successful, you can choose to remain as an Intermediate Member, provided that you have not spent 7 years altogether as an Entry-Level and Intermediate Member.

If you applied for Advanced Professional Membership, but your application is not successful, you can choose to:

a       remain as an Intermediate Member (with the same proviso as above)

         or

b       (if the Admissions Panel confirms that you have the requisite 25 points) you may accept Professional Membership).

In either case, one reapplication for Advanced Professional Membership within 1 year will qualify for the reduced fee.

If you applied for Professional Membership but your application is not successful, and you then apply for Advanced Professional Membership, this will be considered as a fresh application, not a reapplication, and it will attract the usual application fee. You should apply using the online form as usual.

Professional Members

If you applied for Advanced Professional Membership, but your application is not successful, you may remain as a Professional Member.

One reapplication for Advanced Professional Membership within 1 year will qualify for the reduced fee.

How to reapply

You do not need to resubmit information that you included on your originally submitted electronic application form.

Email the office, quoting your original application number, and your original form can be returned to you once you have paid the reapplication fee. You can then add the additional information (training/experiences/references, etc.) to this form and return it to the office. A new application number will then be allocated to you.

Your references will still be valid, so you do not need to send details of any further referees, unless the Admissions Panel has specifically asked for them.
