Local groups: Calendar of events

Page owner: Community director

SfEP members are welcome at all local group events. Those who don't already belong to the Society are welcome to attend up to three local group meetings before deciding whether to join.

What the groups do varies. Most meet regularly, providing opportunities for passing on knowledge and networking. In addition, they may visit local printers and other relevant venues, have speakers at their meetings and organise training.

Note: Members of the SfEP and the Society of Indexers (SI) are now able (and encouraged) to attend each other’s local group meetings. These meetings offer the chance to network, discuss common topics and to gain an insight into the issues faced by the other society. The SI has several local groups of varying sizes who meet for informal lunches, more structured workshops and excursions to local sites. For more information on the SI’s local groups, please see the SI website or contact the .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

______ September

Mid-Somerset Group – Our next meeting – date, time and venue to be confirmed – will be something a little different. Not only are we likely to be meeting in the evening but we’ll also have a guest speaker, Sonja Jefferson of Valuable Content, who’ll be talking to us about content marketing.

This is a fantastic opportunity for our local group – and indeed members from neighbouring groups, if you’d like to come along – and so we’re working with Sonja to pin down a date in September or October, as well as an appropriate (low-cost) venue in Glastonbury or Street. To receive further details once available, contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

7pm Bristol/Bath Group – Meeting at Toto’s wine bar, Redcliff Street, Bristol. All are welcome. For further details, contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

Cloud Club is a lively group and its attendees are international members, members in far-flung parts of the UK and members for whom going to an in-person local group meeting is not feasible. For further details, contact .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).
