About the   local group

The coordinator of the   local group is .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address).

The   group is vibrant and diverse; its members have editorial expertise in English language teaching materials, travel guides, scientific publishing, reference publishing and indexing. We’re a mix of beginners, who can give great insights into training, to very experienced and knowledgeable editors, who have some interesting stories to tell!

Conversations at our monthly meetings are never the same, given our different backgrounds, from biomedical and environmental research to politics and socio-economic development (and a range of other interests that include woodworking, braille transcription and mountain biking …). The meetings always lead to learning new things, often just by hearing what others have been doing over the past few weeks. Every now and then, we pick a specific topic or have a ‘show and tell’, but our meetings are mostly about catching up with like-minded individuals and having a good chat.

We hold meetings in the first week of each month (alternating between Wednesdays and Fridays). Our meetings are very informal and kid-friendly, and are usually held in a coffee shop in central Brighton.
