You can keep track of topics (threads) of interest by using the Follow topic feature.

Following a topic without posting to it

If you haven't contributed to a topic, you can still follow it. Here's how:

  1. Log in to the CIEP forums.
  2. Locate and click the topic to view it.
  3. Near the bottom of the page, click Follow topic.

Clicking the Follow topic link will present a confirmation screen. The tickbox labelled Email me when this topic is updated will be ticked by default.

  1. Click Submit to follow the topic.

Following a topic when posting to it

When composing a post, it's possible to follow the topic by doing the following:

  1. Beneath the Subject line, tick the box labelled Follow topic.
  2. An indented tickbox will appear, titled Email me about replies to this topic. Tick this box to receive emails when the topic is updated.

Managing followed topics

All followed topics are listed in the Followed topics panel. Here's how to access it:

  1. Log in to the CIEP forums.
  2. Next to Logged in as, click your name.
  3. In the left-hand panel, click Show followed topics.

You will see a list of all followed topics.

To stop following a topic

  1. Tick the Stop following box to the left of the topic you wish to stop following.
  2. Click Save changes.

To enable or disable email updates for a topic

  1. Set the Email dropdown menu to the right of the topic you wish to be emailed about to Yes (sends email) or No (sends no email).
  2. Click Save changes.

Subscribing to notifications for an entire forum section

Rather than follow individual topics, you may wish to be notified whenever a new topic is posted in a given forum. To do this, use the Forum subscriptions feature.
