Training funds

The SfEP maintains two training funds to help pay for the creation of training courses and help students pay course fees.

Whitcombe Training Fund

The SfEP was Norma Whitcombe's baby; she was its founder and first chair. Norma had amazing energy, drive and foresight, and SfEP training was her idea. This fund underwrites the creation of new courses. It has also been used to help run courses, support mentoring and develop the accreditation and registration schemes – all of which enhance members' skills and employability.

You can make a donation when you renew your subscription (from 1 March) or at any time by logging in to the Members' area of this website and then clicking 'Renew your subscription/Make a donation' under 'Your SfEP'.

I needed a challenge. My challenge for 1988 was setting up the Society.

Dorothy Mitchell Smith Memorial Fund

Dorothy was the SfEP training administrator for courses in Scotland and the north of England. A gifted tutor with high standards, she was generous with her time, knowledge and guidance. This fund helps beginners all over the country to fund their training.

All new Entry-Level and Intermediate Members are given one dated voucher – worth £20 – to be used within the first year of their Society membership. An Entry-Level Member who upgrades to Intermediate Membership will be given one voucher on joining and a second on upgrading. The voucher can be set against the cost of one SfEP training course. To use a voucher, please select 'Yes' at the relevant point on the online booking form for your course.
