The Christchurch Polytechnic Institute of Technology's graduate diploma in information design (GDID) has been taught entirely online since 1996 and is open to graduates and experienced practitioners from around the world. It focuses on industry-ready skills in all aspects of information design, including professional writing and editing, design of documents and online information, project management and usability testing.

Publishing Training Centre

The industry training organization for book and journal publishing. Offers about 70 class-based courses, many of which run several times a year: editing (print and internet), electronic publishing, various software applications, production, marketing and publicity, management, rights and contracts, and picture research. In addition, PTC has five distance-learning courses: Basic Proofreading, Copy-Editing, Editorial Project Management, Effective Copywriting and Picture Research.
