About Sue Browning
After a long and interesting career in speech technology research, Sue took up copy-editing and proofreading in 2005, finding another way to apply her interest in all things to do with language and speech (and her Linguistics degree). She joined the SfEP in 2007 and is now a Professional Member, specialising in copy-editing linguistics and other humanities and social sciences.
As well as working on books for academic publishers, she also edits for individual academics and authors. When not prowling the halls of academia, she walks on alien planets, editing sci-fi and fantasy fiction.
When not editing, she likes to walk and cycle, and grow vegetables. Indoors, she likes reading (of course!) and word puzzles, especially cryptic crosswords.
