About Ayesha Chari
Ayesha Chari has been editing since 2004. She has worked in-house with Macmillan (STM) and Seagull Books (fiction and non-fiction; academic and trade) in India for over seven years, and has technical skills ranging from in-depth editing of books and journals to basic typesetting, layout and design of text. Ayesha is an Advanced Professional Member of the SfEP, presently working freelance in the UK.
She has edited and performed language quality control checks for STM books and journal articles; copy-edited first English translations of European literature; and worked on a hundred titles of fiction, academic and other writings including culture studies, sociology, anthropology, philosophy, politics, and poetry. While freelancing, she has worked with publishing houses, international research organisations, and students and independent authors.
When not editing, Ayesha loves walking for miles exploring lanes, swimming, curating bookshelves, and creating craft. She can be found at SfEP local group meetings and on the SfEP forums.
