I am a trained scientist who has worked in both academic and clinical labs; a background that is invaluable for my current role as a medical editor. I work for journals, med comms agencies, nongovernmental organizations, publishing agencies and traditional publishers, editing books, journal articles, reports and reviews. I have worked on medical books intended for professionals, and health advice books for the general public.
I edit manuscripts in accordance with house style to provide clarity, consistency and readability. I deal with texts that include statistical data and I am experienced with texts that are heavily referenced.
My work demonstrates a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and I meet deadlines promptly.
Services offered include:
- developmental/substantive editing for medical or scientific journal articles
- rewriting for medical or scientific journal articles nursing
- copy-editing for all academic texts
- editing or proofreading of PowerPoint slides.
I am a technically competent user of Word and use styles, templates, wildcards and macros to increase the efficiency of my editing. I also use PowerPoint, Publisher and Adobe Acrobat.
